More visitors are expecting to visit Johns Square to see Blackpools very own big wheel at 33m high taking pride of place in the revamped area and will be opened on the 15th April.

FAMILIES COME FIRST
Blackpool unveils new attractions aimed at bringing more families to the town and trying to get rid of the image of stag and hens these are still welcome but without the anti-social behaviour.
New attractions to visitors include Nickelodeon Land, and a revamped Tower, and also a range of other shows on offer aimed at young families. Blackpool Council tourism and regeneration said the move would bring an end to peoples old perception of Blackpool. Read more »

BLACKPOOL SHOWZAM
BLACKPOOL Showzam was a great success drawing 25,000 people into the festival, 50 per sent up on last year while behind the scenes tours were sold out.
The annual celebrations of Circus, Magic and new variety in a 10 day event.

TOP OF THE TOWER
A strong stomach is needed for scaffolders at the top of Blackpool Tower, the men renovating the Tower have been working 500ft above the ground. Scaffolding lines the top of the iconic attraction giving a view of the Tower never seen before.
The group started work in December renovating and painting in what has been there highest job to date,Bob Green from Crest Scaffolding said its been a real privilege working on Blackpool Tower.
The men had to have height safety training before they started work as the tools have to be secured with harnesses as extra precaution. Read more »
BLACKPOOL THE NEW ORLANDO
Blackpool was heralded as British Orlando boasting more top attractions than any other resort in Europe.
Merlin Entertainments which operates The Tower compared the town to Floridas leading destination and welcoming entertainment legend Bruce Forsyth to Merlins new Madame Tussauds attraction and said Blackpool would be Europes premier family resort. Read more »

BLACKPOOLS BIG ATTRACTION
Blackpools big wheel 33 mtr,high will be drawing shoppers and tourists into Blackpool town centre this year. The wheel has been secured at no cost to Blackpool Council.
It will sit in St Johns Square, the wheel is the same as seen in Manchester and Southport in recent years, with the ability to carry 144 passengers.
The BID Blackpool Council and all the businesses would like to see St Johns Square enlivened and utilised by the public the big wheel will go a long way to achieving this.
There will be a market and other events to make St Johns a family square. Read more »
