BLACKPOOL NEW TRAM DEPOT
The best in Europe, Blackpool new £20m Tram Depot the final stages to the state of art depot at Starr Gate built by contractors Volker Fitzpatrick in 18 mths. In september the first of 16 new supertrams will arrive.
The Blackpool trams will be the most up to date, ensuring that the depot has the latest technology
The depot is a huge milestone for Blackpool tramway which was opened in 1885 and is the only one in the UK remained in continuous operation, the manager for the tram upgrade said we have got a very modern depot. Read more »

BLACKPOOL ALIEN ATTACK
Aliens in Blackpool an amazing discovery has been made in a basement under Blackpool Golden Mile Centre,for a thousands of years it lay hidden until regeneration work discovered this unique item, only information that has been released is that this discovery is not man made, it is of alien origin and is a large disk shaped object. Blackpool zoo this inland safari now has Britains biggest sealion enclosure it has its own beach area and extended amphitheatre, stylish mock rock and cascading waterfalls have replaced the old concrete background and reinforced glass means visitors can actually see the sealions as they frolic around,
New this year is a Childrens Farm on the south west side of the park with more opportunities to meet the animals and get hands on with new arrivals too.

BLACKPOOL GOLDEN MILE
Blackpool Golden Mile open to traffic again after months of road works, since November
Blackpool new multi-million pound Promenard has re-opened and is able to use the towns road again,the return of passing trade has also been greeted by local businesses.
The road instead of being 2 lanes each way is only one and the speed limit is reduced to 20 mph, the bulk of the Promenard is open though the road is still closed southbound at the Metropole while the work on the tramway continues. Read more »
BLACKPOOL IMPROVEMENTS
Blackpool improvements are continuing on the £15m Blackpool Tower Festival Headland and is only part of the £100m upgrade of the Promenard and is due to open later this year but a date has not been given.
The Headland will boast a 20,000 capacity open air arena, a wedding chapel, tourist information centre and eaterie.
It is expected to hoast concerts and outdoor events and also part of the scheme is the Comedy Carpet with its famous catchlines inscribed in granite these will be set in the surface of the Healand. Read more »

In the bowels of Blackpool Tower a dark and sinister setting is being prepared for mad monks, witches, cut -throat smugglers and marauding Vikings only a few of the characters to the new Blackpool Tower Dungeon. The world famous London Dungeon and it's younger relatives in York and Edinburgh, the Blackpool Dungeon will borrow the best and scariest ingredients from all three.

Sea Life Blackpool which is 21yrs old this year has for the 2011 season a new innovative special feature of exhibitions Claws which houses several fo marine world incredible crab species, as the Giant Japanese Spider crabs that can grow that large to straddle a small car and a monstrous coconut crab from the Philippines.
They have all spouted claws just like there other residents and they look as if they can crawl sideways out the buiding. Read more »
