With the return of the the trams will also see the new front of Blackpool revamped Tower frontage and and the first wedding on the 12 January at the Festival House, overall it will be the the most exciting time for Blackpool.

Blackpool supertrames will have a team of 40 drivers next Easter when the service is open,the drivers will be recruited from Blackpool Transport and will have to meet criteria to take the helm of the trams.
During the winter mths while the tramway is closed drivers will be trained for the start of the new service as there is a complete difference from the heritage trams and the new modern ones,and they will be learning from other operators like Manchester. Read more »

Blackpool glided into a new era with the launch of the multi-million pound trams as it made its maiden journey down the Blackpool Promenard, a milestone in the £100m upgrade, saw the first of the 16 new trams without this it feared the old tramway would close.

Blackpool Illuminations are being switched off at 10.30pm and not 11pm during the week-days, Blackpool Council say its a bid to save money,however during October half term Monday the 24th will stay on, as it traditionally the busiest week in Blackpool year.
Hotel leaders said the move made sense and the Combined Association in Blackpool said it seems sensible during the week as there are not so many people out on the Promenard after 10 pm. Read more »
